Ministry of Health performs more than 300 specialized and free surgeries in Trujillo

In the state of Trujillo, the sixth day of ophthalmic surgery ended and the twelfth day of pacemaker implant surgery was completed, totaling more than 300 highly specialized interventions carried out completely free of charge in the entity.

The sixth ophthalmological day, held at the Dr. Pedro Emilio Carrillo University Hospital (HUPEC) in the city of Valera in collaboration with the Ministry of Popular Power for Health, closed its cycle of interventions treating a total of 233 patients with cataracts. According to the report issued by the Trujillana Health Foundation (FUNDASALUD), only on the closing date, 32 cataract surgeries were performed on citizens aged between 40 and 88, from various municipalities, according to a press release.

He explained that the operation had a multidisciplinary team of specialists from the region together with professionals from the Dr. Carlos Arvelo Military Hospital in Caracas, guaranteeing a comprehensive protocol that included medical evaluation, biometry, laboratory, cardiovascular and pre-anesthetic evaluation.
