Ministry of Hydrocarbons evaluates technical advances in the License for gas exploration and exploitation

The Ministry of People's Power of Hydrocarbons and BP Exploration Caribbean Limited held a technical workshop within the framework of the Cocuina Field Exploration and Exploitation License, Block 4, of the Deltana Platform, in which the project's progress with regard to subsurface studies, interpretation of seismic data and the proposed work program for the year 2027 were analyzed.
The meeting took place over two days under the guidance of the Minister of Hydrocarbons, Paula Henao, and was attended by authorities and technical personnel from the Vice Ministry of Gas, PDVSA Gas Offshore, the Executive Directorate of Integrated Reservoir Studies of PDVSA and the Sovereign Bank of Petroleum and Gas Data; to evaluate the progress of activities and compliance with obligations on the part of the BP and NGC Licensees, for the development of cross-border reservoirs.
The technical exchange that took place at the Hydrocarbon Technology and Data Management Center, in the La Campiña Complex, made it possible to learn the results of the seismic survey carried out in the area, as well as the preliminary results of the reservoir model, proposed well drilling and advances in basic engineering for gas production and collection infrastructure.
Under the leadership of President Delcy Rodríguez, a strategic energy alliance is being consolidated for the development of offshore gas reserves. This License reaffirms the leading role of Venezuela, in favor of energy security in the region, positioning it as a pole of development and geopolitical integration in the Caribbean.
