Ministry of Sport made an endowment for national adult and youth taekwondo teams

The Ministry of Popular Power for Sports delivered specific sports equipment to the national adult and youth taekwondo teams at the new National Taekwondo Training Center, located in the basement of one of the Brígido Iriarte stadium.

During the delivery, the Deputy Minister of High Performance, Henyelberth Herrera, took a detailed tour of the facilities in the company of the federal staff, the body of coaches and athletes, with the objective of evaluating the conditions in which the new center is located and determining the necessary improvements and adjustments, according to a press release from the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports.

“This new center will have the ideal conditions for our athletes to have the best possible preparation for the Olympic macrocycle events, both youth and absolute,” Herrera said.

He also announced that they will carry out new renovations so that the medical triad, trainers and all technical staff linked to the comprehensive care of athletes have adequate spaces.

“This training center is essential in preparing youth athletes for their participation in the South American Youth Games Panama 2026 and the Bolivarian Youth Games Caracas 2026,” he explained.

On the other hand, he noted that the men's and women's senior teams are beginning their preparation cycle focusing on qualifiers for the upcoming Central American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and the South American Games in Rosario, Argentina.

The equipment provided includes 32 reversible breasts, 32 shin guards, 32 elbow pads, 40 kick paddles and 15 masks, essential for the development of high performance in national taekwondo.

“Following the instructions of our president in charge Delcy Rodríguez and the Minister for Popular Power for Sports, Franklin Cardillo, we delivered this first batch of the specific training equipment for the preparation route in 2026″, Herrera said.
