The Ministry of Popular Power for Tourism (MINTUR) reported that Angel Falls and Margarita Island were nominated for the World Travel Awards 2026, an award that recognizes excellence in the travel, airline, hospitality and hospitality services sectors on a global scale.
The Kerepakupai Vena competes in the category of P Main Tourist Attraction in South America, standing out as a natural destination of great biodiversity and unique landscapes, considered one of the most important geological wonders in the world, according to MINTUR on its website. The Venezuelan natural icon, located in the Canaima National Park, in Bolivar state, will compete with destinations in the region such as the Atacama Desert , Torres del Paine National Park, Christ the Redeemer, the City Half the World and the Iguazu Falls.
For its part, Margarita Island, known as the Pearl of the Caribbean, is nominated as South America's Top Beach Destination, in recognition of its beaches with crystal clear waters, as well as its gastronomic, historical and cultural offerings. Venezuela is also included in the categories of Main Culinary Destination and Main Green Destination, as part of the country's projection in the international tourism field.
