The Minister of
Popular Power for Tourism, Daniella Cabello, presented together with the governor of
Nueva Esparta, Marisel Velásquez, the multisectoral platform “Venezuela Hub”, Nueva Esparta
chapter, from the Venetur Margarita hotel, with the objective of
attracting investment and promoting business opportunities in the international market.
The
initiative seeks to strengthen the articulation between the tourism sector and the global
market, in addition to strengthening the island's connective advantages with
Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.
During
the activity, Cabello reported that the international air frequency reached 149 weekly
flights from countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Spain, Turkey
and Barbados.
He also
noted that shipping companies such as MSC Cruises, Estela Shipping and Carnival Cruises
expressed interest in reactivating operations and investing in Nueva Esparta. At the
same time, he highlighted approaches with the German tour operators Dertour and DRV, in
addition to the Canadian company Sunwing Vacations, to finalize multi-destination promotion agreements.
In addition, he added that a plan will be implemented to optimize
public services and adapt infrastructures, including the Santiago Mariño
International Airport and the Pampatar pier, currently undergoing recovery.
In addition, he mentioned projects such as the construction of the
Simplicio Rodríguez promenade and the expansion of the hotel chains SunSol and Hesperia.
Within the framework of the Venezuela Hub strategy, the Ministry of Tourism
presented the Tourism Investment Catalogue and invited
service providers, investors and companies to join this instrument for
attracting domestic and foreign investment.
