Miranda delegation led the overall ranking of the National Athletics Championship

With 311.50 points, the Miranda state delegation topped the overall team ranking of the National Athletics and Under-20 Selective Championship, held at the Brígida Iriarte National Stadium in Caracas.
In this regard, the Mirandino athletes reached the highest number of places for the National Youth Games, according to a press release from the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports.
Lara's team, with 248 points, ranked second in the table, followed by Carabobo, who accumulated 224 points, to complete the first three places on the overall scoreboard of the sporting event.
Adriana Rodríguez (200 m), José Barroeta (3 thousand m), Allan Riobueno (3 thousand obstacles), Gabriela Garcés (high jump), Orianna Díaz (long jump), are among the Mirandino athletes who claimed the highest awards during the championship, in addition to the places in the men's 4×100 and mixed positions, and in the women's and men's 4×400.
For the state of Lara, Elkarys Martínez (1,500 m), Cristopher Becerra (high jump), Valeria Vargas and Emmanuel Chávez (pole vault) and Marcelo Querales (long jump) were proclaimed champions in the selective competition.
Meanwhile, the Carabobo champions were Iantriz Pérez (3,000 planes and obstacles and 5,000), Karla Villegas (5,000; athletic walking), Yeremi Izaguirre (triple jump) and Winderson Camacaro (decathlon).
The National Youth Sports Games will be held from August 22 to September 5, the joust will be held in the capital of Caracas and the states of La Guaira and Miranda will serve as sub-venues of the event.
