The governor of the state of Miranda, Elio Serrano, delivered the comprehensive rehabilitation of the El Indio bridge, a strategic structure over the Guaire River that connects the central area of Santa Lucía del Tuy with the productive areas of the Paz Castillo municipality.

The project directly benefits 7,000 families and optimizes traffic for two public transport routes. The works included the scarification of the road, reinforcement of supports, application of 90 tons of asphalt and the recovery of the metal structure.

In addition, 14 LED luminaires were installed, 130 meters of sidewalks and boulders were built, and landscaping work was carried out with the planting of 18 palm trees.

“Today we are delivering a safe road that guarantees mobility to Santa Rita, Las Adjuntas and Siquire,” he said.

For his part, Mayor Omar León emphasized that “the bridge is the “heart of local productivity”, as it is the main route for four communes: The Peace Indian and his Tribe, Julia Durán, Agricultural and Tourism Dr. Francisco Espejo and Luchadores por Santa Rita, with agricultural, poultry and pig potential.

During the day, the authorities supervised the correction of the edge fault on the La Variante national highway, in the Macuto sector, which has a 95% execution rate.

The project required the movement of 200,000 cubic meters of material and the deployment of 25 heavy machines for the redirection of the Guaire River. It is estimated that in eight weeks traffic to El Nogal and Mariche will be restored.
