The Government of Miranda State and the Mayor's Office of the Paz Castillo municipality are carrying out the comprehensive recovery of the road in the La Variante sector in Santa Lucía del Tuy, where a prolonged edge fault located behind Camaquito Park was intervened and which hampered traffic in the area for several years.

Current work includes the technical leveling of the land and the completion of confinement paving, essential elements to guarantee drainage and prevent future undermining, Última Noticias reported on its website.

Mayor Omar León reported that after consolidating the base of the soil, the asphalt layer will be applied for the total reopening of the road.

He added that as part of the safety protocols, tree specimens were selectively pruned that interfered with the stability of road infrastructure.

“In parallel, Public Services and Civil Protection teams cleared the road that connects Santa Rita and Santa Lucía, at the height of Los Morales, which was obstructed by the collapse of a Vera tree due to strong gusts of wind,” he added.

He stressed that on the eve of what will be the early reopening of the main road in the La Variante sector, workers from the Secretariat of Human Cities, through the Ornato office, are cleaning this road artery that connects Santa Lucía with Santa Teresa del Tuy.

“For several weeks, this valuable team has been doing great work to recover this road, which will allow our passers-by, merchants to have a quick access road, and guarantee the best quality of life for our people,” he said.

The mayor mentioned that in a complementary way, crews carry out the weeding of green areas, collecting solid waste and installing luminaires along the entire axis of the Central Quarter.

Germán Larez, director of the agency, said that these tasks seek to provide a quick and safe access route for merchants and passers-by.

He added that the maintenance plan was extended to the Vargas State High School in Alto de Soapire, where cleaning work was carried out for the benefit of the student population.
