In the framework of World Animal Day, the Nevado Mission held this Friday, October 4th, a national day of mass sterilization called “Castralat”.

This initiative has managed to serve more than three thousand dogs and cats across the country, with a highlight in the Plaza de la Candelaria in Caracas.

The president of Misión Nevado, Maigualida Vargas, reported that the conference took place at more than 57 points nationwide, with the objective of improving animal care and welfare.

Vargas stressed that this effort has been possible thanks to the support of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, allowing the care of more than three thousand animals throughout the territory.

In Caracas, veterinarian José Roa, a member of the Nevado Mission, said that more than 700 animals were treated during the day held in Plaza de la Candelaria.

Roa highlighted the high responsiveness of the community, with the participation of 200 veterinary doctors and 600 volunteers in this activity.

The “Castralat” day reflects Misión Nevado's commitment to animal health and welfare. During this coming weekend, this activity will continue, to promote the control of the pet population and the prevention of diseases.
