For a week, around two thousand pets were cared for by Misión Nevado Aragua, an initiative that directly benefited various communities in Turmero and adjacent sectors.
The deployment had as its epicenter the headquarters of the Integral Veterinary Center (CVI) in the “The Sun is Born by the Essequibo” Commune, located in the Esteban Liendo sector, where dogs and cats received free comprehensive care.
During the activity, veterinarians and assistants applied rabies vaccines, dewormed and performed ear cleaning and nail cutting to the animals. These free services not only improve the quality of life of dogs and cats, but they also protect the health of families by preventing diseases that can pass from animals to humans and help prevent the abandonment of pets.
Francisco Mijares, regional coordinator of Misión Nevado, told regional media that the influx of people with their pets and pets was massive, receiving citizens who traveled from distant municipalities such as Zamora, Tovar and Girardot to comply with the medical control of their animals.
In addition to clinical care, legal advice was provided to landlords on the prevention of violence against animals and the fundamental requirements for exercising responsible ownership.
