Since 2006 and to date, the Sonrisa Mission has accumulated more than 4 million comprehensive care services and has delivered more than 250,000 dental prostheses free of charge, said José Juan Delgado, the national coordinator of this institution.

During an interview with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), he pointed out that the Venezuelan State maintained the operation of the 26 centers active in the country through international agreements with the People's Republic of China, which allowed the supply of high-quality raw materials despite external economic limitations.

Similarly, according to a press release from the Ministry of Health, Delgado explained that oral health represented a determining factor in the self-esteem and general well-being of the population, especially in older adults, who recovered their capacity for eating and social interaction thanks to these treatments.

He also explained that the care process began with primary sanitation in popular clinics and then proceeded to the prosthetic rehabilitation phase in specialized centers. He also stressed that the savings for the beneficiaries were total, since a prosthesis that costs up to 300 dollars in the private market was supplied at no cost to the people. Finally, the authority urged interested parties to make their requests using the Ven App application to channel appointments according to their geographical location.
