At a strategic meeting held at the Socialist Legislative Council of the State of Monagas (Clsem), Governor Ernesto Luna and the Minister of Productive Agriculture and Lands, Julio León Heredia, consolidated a work agenda with 297 peasant spokespersons to promote agro-productive growth in the region.

The day, aimed at strengthening policies towards the primary sector, made it possible to evaluate the progress of peasant councils, a structure that in Monagas already represents 519 organizations and brings together more than 35,000 producers committed to food sovereignty.

The exchange of knowledge focused on the planning of planting cycles and the prioritization of joint financing schemes. One of the critical points addressed was the streamlining of the corn seed certification process, a necessary measure to ensure the success of the next agricultural season.

These actions are part of the construction of the Concrete Agenda for Action, which in the entity has the support of more than eight thousand spokespersons organized in 28 different areas.

During the event, the territorial potential of the state was highlighted, which has 290,000 productive hectares ready for agricultural exploitation. Spokesmen Oscarina Farrera and Rafael Mendoza agreed that popular organization is the main engine for transforming these lands into national supply centers. This basic structure in Monagas joins the more than 15,000 peasant councils that already operate throughout the country under the supervision of the national agricultural portfolio.

Finally, the government team, also comprised of the Secretary of Productive Development, Ismael Aguilera, and the director of UTA Monagas, Rina Requena, confirmed their commitment to holding permanent meetings with popular power. The objective is to consolidate a joint effort to optimize logistics and technical support for the peasantry, ensuring that Monagas remains a reference in the nation's productive map.
