Monagas SC announced the departure of Ecuadorian technical director Octavio Zambrano and his collaborators after completing the 2026 Apertura Tournament of the Venezuelan Football League (FUTVE League).

The announcement was made official by Monagas SC through a statement published on its social networks in which it indicated that Zambrano's departure was made by agreement between both parties.

He also confirmed that Lenis Maturana (assistant) and Norberto Salamanca (physical trainer) will not continue to lead the first team.

The Board of Directors of the Barça team thanked them for their professionalism and wished him every success in his next challenges.

Zambrano took the Barça bench in November 2025, placing second to last in the Apertura and eliminated on penalties in the first phase of the Copa Sudamericana 2026.

His record in 14 games was 3 wins, 3 draws and 8 losses, without scoring points as a visitor in the local tournament.
