The Monagas national team successfully closed their participation in the National Weightlifting Championship, held in the state of La Guaira, accumulating a total of 12 gold and 9 silver medals. The performance of the athlete Luis Gómez stood out, who won five gold and one silver medals in the under23 and adult categories, consolidating himself as national champion in the 110-kilo division.

Coach Robson Pérez highlighted the importance of these achievements for the Monaguense team. “These results are extraordinary for a team full of youth,” he said, underlining the effort and talent of the athletes in each event contested.

In addition to Gómez's performance, Monagas celebrated the performance of Carlos Guanare, who won one gold medal and two silver medals in the under23 category, an 88-kilo division. Marialquis Arriojas also shone, with three gold and three silver medals; Roxinés Polanco, who won three golds; and Lismary Medrano, with three silver medals, all in the 58-kilo division. Arriojas was crowned champion in the senior category, while Polanco took top honors in the under23 category.

The competition in La Guaira brought together the best exponents of this discipline in the country, reaffirming the competitive level and preparation of Venezuelan weightlifters. Monagas concludes the event with outstanding results, demonstrating the strength of its team and the projection of its athletes in weightlifting.
