More than 100 people underwent cataract surgery during a day at the Ministry of Health in Sucre

Around 100 people underwent surgery for cataracts and pterygium in the state of Sucre, during an ophthalmological surgical day carried out by personnel from the Ministry of People's Power for Health.

The information was provided by the entity's single health authority, William Meneses, who explained that the surgical procedures were carried out at the facilities of the Salvador Allende hospital, in the city of Cumaná. “ 97 people were operated on for cataracts and 3 for pterygium whose requests were reported by VenApp.”

“The interventions were carried out by a team from the Miracle Mission and all the actions, as well as the previous evaluations and the medicines were completely free of charge,” he said.
