More than 1,610 hemodynamic procedures have been successfully performed through the 2016 Health and Life Plan during the first quarter of the year, said Health Minister Carlos Alvarado.

As reported by Venezolana de Televisión, the minister explained that this volume of activity represents 64% of the objectives set for this part of the year, demonstrating solid progress in optimizing specialized and emergency medical care for patients with heart diseases.

In addition, the head of the Health portfolio said that these achievements are the direct result of public policies focused on optimizing hospital infrastructure and guaranteeing free access to medical treatments that, in the conventional market, are very expensive for the population.

In this regard, he stressed that the alliance with the private sector has made it possible to unite efforts to guarantee the well-being of Venezuelans.

This bilateral cooperation has made it possible to promote surgical interventions and to optimize high-tech medical procedures against cancer, such as radiation therapy services.
