This Saturday, the Armed Forces of Ukraine bombed the center of Belgorod, a city in the homonymous province, in Russia, leaving more than 20 civilians dead, a number that continues to rise.

Regional authorities reported the murder of more than 20 people and more than 100 injured, including 15 minors, in a bombing described as one of the most devastating in the last two years, since the beginning of the conflict between the two countries.

According to witnesses and videos published by RT, the bombing focused on the city's central square, where Christmas attractions and a skating rink had been deployed. The target was a residential area; around 40 civilian facilities were affected, all unrelated to military purposes.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that Ukraine used cluster munition missiles, banned by international law, and Czech-made Vampire multiple rocket launchers.

In response to the attack, Moscow requested an urgent meeting at the Security Council of the United Nations (UN) to discuss the attack, and demanded the presence of the permanent representative of the Czech Republic to explain the supply of these banned weapons by more than 100 countries around the world.

For her part, the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, accused the United Kingdom and the United States (USA) of inciting Kiev to terrorist actions by not allowing negotiations with Moscow, after understanding that the Ukrainian counteroffensive had failed.

He denounced that "London prohibited the Kiev regime from sitting at the negotiating table with the Russian side and, in the absence of the slightest possibility of improving the deplorable situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the ground, the Anglo-Saxons switched to the tactic of carrying out terrorist acts against civilians”.
