During the month of February, a total of 524,320 customers of the Bank of Venezuela (BDV) acquired their currencies, in agreement with the National Government, which has drawn up a strategy for 2026 aimed at democratizing access to the foreign exchange market and steadily expanding the participation of individuals.

This amount represents double the number obtained during the month of January when 264,500 people were reached, according to the BDV press.

Natural customers have purchased a total of USD 135.9 million, of which USD 61 million were approved in 395,277 transactions made through their International Card (TI).

To date, the BDV has issued more than 1 million 527 thousand 500 cards, which are automatically assigned by the Institution based on the use of the Bank's ecosystem and the client's reciprocity. Those who carry out foreign exchange purchases also receive IT.

The purchase is simple and is made exclusively from the BDVAPP through the route: Currencies > Purchase, once there, you just have to enter the amount and that's it. The foreign exchange market operates on a set schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., or until daily availability runs out.

Transactions can be carried out starting at 1 dollar, while the maximum daily limit, which continues to increase progressively, currently reaches 2,000 dollars per customer.

Once the currencies have been purchased, for electronic use only, the International Card allows you to make payments online abroad or subscribe to international digital platforms. To do this, you only have to log in to the BDVAPP with the usual authentication method, access the Cards menu, select it and activate the Internet Consumption option.

It is important to note that, from the free convertible account, you can also make domestic purchases in bolivars. In this case, the account acts as a backup, so that all charges associated with these operations are directly debited from the customer's currency account.
