The Deputy Minister of Prevention and Public Safety of the Ministry of People's Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace (MPPRIJP), G/D Endes Palencia, announced that around five thousand people have used the facilities of the “Antonio José de Sucre” Eastern Terminal located on the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Highway in Greater Caracas to travel to their respective destinations during this holiday of Major Week.

Palencia asserted that the Oriente Terminal is one of the 37 prioritized terrestrial terminals out of 107 existing throughout the country, which is why he highlighted the efforts being made there to provide optimal service to users.

“At the national level, as indicated, we have more than 163,000 civil servants and civil servants deployed in the 18 trunks at the 3,527 control points and, in this specific case, in all terrestrial terminals,” he said.

After supervising the facilities of the above-mentioned land terminal, the Division General said that the Directorate of Crime Prevention (DPD), together with the other bodies of the Public Security System, work together to provide the best care that passengers deserve when they travel to their respective destinations.

He indicated that with the help of the National Anti-Drug Superintendency (SUNAD), toxicological tests are carried out on the drivers who drive the units, with which they verify if the professionals behind the wheel are fully physically and psychologically capable of providing transportation services to passengers.

He stressed that, according to regulations 002 and 004 agreed between the MPPRIJP and the Ministry of People's Power for Transportation (MPPT) on January 17, 2024, drivers must drive units at 70 kilometers per hour when traveling on highways, 60 kilometers per hour when traveling on roads, 40 or 45 kilometers per hour in urban areas and 15 kilometers per hour at road intersections.

He reiterated the holding of the orientation days offered to professionals behind the wheel and to the Venezuelan people in general, as an effective mechanism for the prevention of traffic accidents.
