Last Sunday, at least 91 people died in a shipwreck that occurred off the coast of Mozambique, in the province of Nampula, located in the north of the nation.

Local authorities and media agreed that at least 130 people were traveling on the fishing boat, including several children.

Telesur notes that these people left by boat from the town of Lunga fleeing to Mozambique from a cholera outbreak affecting the area.

Likewise, the authorities stressed that overcrowding, overweight and large waves were the main causes of the incident.
