The Ministry of Popular Power for Education (MPPE) published the official calendar for the 2025-2026 school year, which states that the return to school will be on Monday, January 12, 2026, marking the beginning of the second pedagogical moment throughout the country.
However, the first week of activities will have an immediate break, since on Thursday, January 15, there will be no classes due to the commemoration of Teacher's Day, one of the most significant dates in the national educational calendar, the MPPE reported on its official website.
The school schedule also includes several holidays and holiday periods, which will allow academic breaks during the development of the school year:
Carnival: Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 February 2026
Holy Week: Thursday, April 2 and Friday, April 3, 2026
These dates are part of the established national breaks for students, teachers and administrative staff.
In the second semester, the calendar also includes two historic anniversaries that will be non-working days during the second semester of the school year: Wednesday, June 24: Battle of Carabobo (1821) and Friday, July 24: Birth of the Liberator Simon Bolivar (1783).
These holidays represent the last holidays before the end of the academic year.
