Much of Europe collapses due to electricity blackout

This Monday, massive blackouts are reported in several European countries, according to media details, interruptions in electricity service have triggered failures in mobile communications, train and subway systems.

The power failure in Europe, according to the first reports, affects Spain, Portugal, France, Finland, the Netherlands, part of Italy and part of Switzerland.

Civil Protection of the Generalitat in Spain reported that the 112 emergency service has a high rate of calls from users who report incidents in the electricity supply; in this regard, they urge that only those that are strictly essential be carried out.

In addition, Red Eléctrica, the public company responsible for electrical connections, has issued a statement stating that the causes are being investigated.
