The director of the Department for Government Efficiency (DOGE), created in January, Elon Musk, will reduce his time as an official of the United States (US) Government, given the drop by 71% in the total revenues of Tesla, the company he owns.
The magnate made the announcement during a conference with analysts from the automotive sector, where he noted that, although the work “is very important” and that he has made “great progress in responding to waste and fraud” in the US federal executive, starting in May, the time he dedicates to the DOGE “will fall significantly”.
“I think I'll continue a day or two a week as long as the president (Donald Trump) wants me to do it and as long as I'm useful,” Musk said.
The decision came after information circulated about the businessman's alleged departure as part of Trump's team of direct advisors. “Soon it will be time for Musk to return to his business and assume a supporting role,” said the president in his inner circle, according to three anonymous sources who told the Politico portal.
