Nahum Fernández: Caracas reinforces Fire Risk Mitigation Plan

The head of Government of Caracas (GDC), Nahum Fernández, led a strategic meeting of the General Staff of Risks, in order to evaluate security measures and mitigation plans in the face of recent climate and environmental contingencies in the capital.

During the meeting, held at Mirador Boyacá, he announced the deployment of more than five thousand personnel from various citizen security agencies. This contingent will be mainly focused on the most vulnerable areas of the city, where 10,000 hectares have been affected by forest fires.

Fernández stressed that, thanks to instructions from the Minister of People's Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, preventive actions have been authorized in electrical substations.

He pointed out that a joint work with the Fire Department, the intervention and recovery of 187 critical hectares has been achieved.

As Holy Week approaches, the authorities will activate intensive awareness-raising campaigns for the care of the environment and the prevention of accidents.

On the other hand, as part of the comprehensive care agenda for road infrastructure, the Hole-Hunting Squad carried out an important day of supervision in the parish of El Valle, specifically on the stretch of Intercommunal Avenue located between 11th and 14th streets of Los Jardines, a technical inspection was carried out of the demolition and emptying of slabs.

The activity was led by the general manager of the Squadron, Daniel Ferrer, who verified the progress of work aimed at improving the mobility and safety of the inhabitants of the sector.

This road engineering effort reflects commitment to the community and responds to the guidelines of the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.
