The National Assembly (AN) resumed this Tuesday the debate on the draft Cocoa Law and the National Coffee Law, both approved in the first discussion in 2024, these instruments seek to protect producers of these agricultural sectors.
This effort to accelerate the evaluation and enactment of these projects responds to the mobilization of the economic and productive sectors in the state of Mérida, last Monday, as part of the second phase of the Great National Pilgrimage for a Venezuela without Sanctions and in Peace, where the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, ordered the revision and approval in the coming days of the Coffee and Cocoa Laws.
To this end, the first vice-president of the Parliament, Deputy Pedro Infante (PSUV/Miranda), recalled that both bills were submitted to a rigorous national public consultation process, and they have all the inputs and proposals collected during those days, to be approved and sanctioned shortly.
He reiterated that institutional support for peasants, producers and businessmen is carried out without any kind of political distinction, assuring that the National Parliament will continue to be deployed on the streets to guarantee sovereign economic growth and strict compliance with the word committed to the Venezuelan people.
The parliamentarians Jehyson Guzmán (PSUV/ Nacional), Andrés Avelino (AC/ Nacional), Ramón Lobo (PSUV/ Mérida), Lisett Muñoz (PSUV/ Anzoátegui), América Pérez (PSUV/ Nueva Esparta), Fernando Bastida (PSUV/ Falcón), and Wilman Castro (PSUV/ National) participated in the committee that promotes this Act.
