National Government delivered 7,000 coffee, cacao and musaceae seedlings to producers in Barinas

The delivery of these inputs seeks to strengthen national food production.

The Ministry of Science and Technology (MINCYT), through the Venezuelan Academy of Agricultural Sciences (ACAV), delivered 7,000 fortified coffee, cacao and musaceae seedlings, benefiting 50 producers in eight municipalities in the state of Barinas.

Among the seedlings are native mycorrhizae, microbial consortium, trichoderma sp and humic and fulvic acids, distributed in 3,000 coffee plants, 2,000 modern criollo cacao and 2,000 plantain plantains.

All of these items, according to a MINCYT press release, are produced in ACAV Farmhouses under scientific protocols aimed at improving productivity, plant health and the sustainability of local agricultural systems.

The delivery benefits the municipalities Alberto Arvelo Torrealba, Antonio José de Sucre, Barinas, Bolívar, Cruz Paredes, Obispos and Pedraza, Rojas, consolidating productive networks and strengthening the articulation between science, production and popular organization.

On this day, a strategic delivery was also made to the Agricultural Company of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (AgroFanB) of 500 coffee seedlings and 300 cocoa seedlings for a total of 800 seedlings intended for the establishment of microlots of mother plants as spaces for innovation, productive validation and strengthening the genetic base of agricultural systems.
