At a meeting with representatives of various diplomatic missions, the Venezuelan Minister of Popular Power for Agriculture and Lands, Julio León Heredia, presented this Tuesday the Agroalba project, an initiative aimed at strengthening agricultural production in the region through international cooperation.

During the meeting, León Heredia highlighted the impact and objectives of the project, in addition to highlighting integration opportunities for countries that do not belong to the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America — Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP).

“AGROALBA is a macro-project open to all nations, without political distinction, with the purpose of promoting sustainable agricultural development and ensuring food security in the region,” he said.

He also announced the holding of the Agroalba Expoferia, an event that will serve as a showcase to show the progress and achievements of this initiative. The Expoferia seeks to promote the exchange of knowledge, technologies and good practices in the agricultural sector, which facilitates interaction between producers, investors and governments.

“Collaboration between countries is key to overcoming the challenges of the agricultural sector and strengthening our food sovereignty. AGROALBA represents a unique opportunity to join forces and consolidate an efficient and sustainable production model”, concluded the minister, calling on more nations to join this integration proposal.

With this initiative, Venezuela reaffirms its commitment to agricultural development and international cooperation, by promoting the progress of the sector and opening new doors for the exchange of ideas and resources between countries.
