National Government provides collective funding within the framework of the “Weaving Networks” Program

Last Friday, a strategic deployment took place in the town of Irapa, Sucre state. The main objective of the day was to strengthen the productive chain of Eastern Venezuela through the provision of collective funding within the framework of the National Program “Weaving Networks”.

Through the Ministry of Popular Power of Fisheries and Aquaculture and its affiliated entity, the Venezuelan Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (FONPESCA), collective funding was granted to strengthen the economy of the artisanal fishing sector.

The day was extended to the municipalities of Mariño, Cajigal, Bermúdez and Sucre, directly benefiting 9 Councils of the Popular Power of Fishermen and Fishermen (CONPPA): CAJ, La Milagrosa, Socialist Parian XXI, Bahia de Güiria de la Playa, Brisas del Carmen, La Ensenada de Playa Grande, Bonanza de Guaca, Cariña Indians and Sea Fighters.

Through this initiative, a total of 103 women processors (50 directly and 50 indirect) were empowered, who received basic kits aimed at strengthening coordination with the CONPPA, solidarity contribution and local commerce.

The Ministry of Fisheries and FONPESCA reaffirm their commitment to regional economic development; in addition to the consolidation of food security in the coastal communities of the Sucrense entity.
