National government reinforces training in epidemiological surveillance

As part of the protocols for strengthening epidemiological surveillance in the national territory, the National Forum “Update on Measles Alert in the Americas” was organized in various Comprehensive Community Health Areas (ASIC).

The Ministry of Popular Power for Health, through the State Directorate of La Guaira, organized the forum, which was aimed at 295 professionals, a training day aimed at nurses, students, epidemiologists, resident doctors and specialists of the entity.

During the day, information was disseminated on epidemiological surveillance protocols, preventive measures and guidelines for action against the circulation of the virus in the region.

Measles is a highly contagious and serious viral disease that primarily affects the respiratory tract and is easily spread through the air. Although it can affect people of any age, it is more common in unvaccinated children.
