The Minister of Popular Power for Health, Nuramy Gutiérrez and the representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Venezuela, Manuel Rodríguez Pumarol, met this Thursday, April 9, to review technical strategies for the protection of Venezuelan children.
The Ministry of Popular Power for Health (MPPS), in its account on the social network Instagram, reported that as a result of this meeting, a roadmap was established that prioritizes the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI) throughout the country, which will be implemented thanks to this important international cooperation to guarantee the health sovereignty and well-being of the most vulnerable sectors of the country.
In this regard, Minister Gutiérrez explained that technical mechanisms were addressed for access to Venezuelan funds blocked abroad, financial resources that will be used exclusively for the purchase of vaccines and the strengthening of the cold chain necessary for the preservation of biological products.
Rodríguez Pumarol also ratified UNICEF's commitment to working with the Bolivarian Government and expressed his willingness to support the logistical processes to carry out the vaccination days, which ensures that every boy and girl has the complete immunization schedule.
