The National Journalism Award Foundation announced the extension of the deadline for receiving applications for the Simón Bolívar National Journalism Award 2026, setting Friday, June 5, 2026 as the new deadline. This decision responds to the objective of expanding the participation of communicators, both Venezuelans and foreigners residing in the country.

Participants may submit productions in print, audiovisual, digital or graphic format that have been broadcast in Venezuelan media between July 1, 2025 and May 22, 2026. All material must be originally published in Spanish to be considered by the evaluating jury.

To formalize the delivery, applicants must send their documents exclusively to the email address [email protected]. It is essential to attach a copy of the identity card, the participant's curriculum summary, a statement of reasons and clearly indicate the category to which they are applying.

The available categories cover informational, opinion, interpretive or research genres in print, radio, television, digital and alternative media, as well as graphic imaging and teaching. The winners will be announced and awarded on June 27, as part of the celebration of Venezuelan Journalist Day.
