The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, invites all Venezuelans and foreigners not to miss out and enjoy the VI Biennial of the South-Peoples in Resistance, in Caracas, until January 16, 2026 with the works of 157 national and international artists from 16 countries who are committed to respect the self-determination of peoples.

I invite all Venezuelans and foreigners not to miss out and enjoy the VI Biennial of the South-Peoples in Resistance, in Caracas, until January 16, 2026", said the National President during his Con Maduro+ program, which was attended by artists and diplomatic representatives from various countries present with their works at the Southern Biennial.

The holder of the cultural portfolio, Ernesto Villegas, praised artistic creation and thanked the more than 150 artists for joining this international event. In this sense, he proposed to reward artists who step forward to achieve their emancipation from the North in the context of genocide and political-military siege in the Caribbean.

In the same way, he reiterated that the peoples of the South will never be in favor of genocide, nor in favor of the elimination of the cultural diversity that is typical of humanity.

The sixth edition of the Southern Biennial will be installed from October 10 to January 16, 2026, in various spaces such as the Carlos Cruz-Diez Museum of Printing and Design, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies Rómulo Gallegos (Celarg), and will be extended to various communities in Caracas, such as San Agustín, El Guarataro, January 23, Valle - Coche and the center of the capital. The workshops will be held at La Casona Cultural Eleazar López Contreras.

The Bienal del Sur has the participation of 75 national and 26 international artists in various disciplines such as painting, sculpture, video-art, textile art, photography, performance and more. It also pays homage to 5 visual artists from Venezuela: Antonia Azuaje, Juan Calzadilla, Manuel Espinoza, Belén Parada and José Antonio Dávila.
