The National Observatory for Science, Technology and Innovation (ONCTI), this Thursday, March 13, announced the continuation of the process of the National Campaign for the Collection of Research and Development (R&D) Data in Venezuela corresponding to 2024.
The information was released by the president of the institution attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology, Roberto Betancourt, in the entity's account, on the social network Instagram, who stated that “it has been a great national effort in the creation and consolidation of research and development spaces and also in the training of men and women in this task”.
“Of the 173 universities we already have more than half of them, especially the larger ones that offer postgraduate degrees and have scientific, humanistic and technological development councils, we are also collecting data from People's Power, which has been seen as a great challenge to try to represent the entire country in research and development activities in this sector,” he explained.
He stressed that the four sectors involved, such as University Education, National Public Administration (APN), Industry and Popular Power, have been very receptive to the current campaign.
He added that they are also preparing for the collection of 2025 research data.
The National Campaign for Data Collection for Research and Development (R&D) seeks to measure in Venezuela the state of science, its products, research spaces and the solutions provided to improve the quality of life of the people.
