Yesterday, the Legislative Branch approved an Agreement commemorating the 12 years of Commander Hugo Chávez's perfect electoral victory in the presidential elections of October 7, 2012, as an expression of the power of the People and the will to continue moving towards a more just and sovereign Venezuela.
In the regular session held this Tuesday, October 08, at the Federal Legislative Palace, the presentation of this Agreement was led by the deputy Fernando Bastidas, who stressed that last October 7th was not only an election, but a day that became a historic trigger for the Fatherland.
“With regard to this point, we could evoke different experiences or experiences, the feat of Sabaneta to Miraflores, on October 40, with the 7 avenues full of towns and blessed rain of the Cordonazo de San Francisco, all of this we could evoke,” he said.
He stressed that “we have a lot to say, but I would like to highlight that Commander Chávez, that night of October 7, in the People's Balcony, told us, October 7 was the culmination of a series of struggles of the people that, during the years preceding the first decade of this 21st century, led the Bolivarian Revolution to carry out, under the leadership of Hugo Chávez, a series of transformations in favor of essential demands for the poorest and for the more humble.”
Bastidas also called for continuing his legacy “to guarantee the continuation of the Bolivarian Revolution and to consolidate a prosperous, socialist and profoundly revolutionary nation.”
He recalled that in the presidential elections of October 7, 2012, Chávez triumphed with eight million 191 thousand 132 votes.
Twelve years after this perfect victory, the people celebrate this historic date that continues to resonate in the souls of men and women who work every day to achieve the state of social welfare promoted and bequeathed by the founder of the Revolution in Venezuela.
