National table tennis won four medals at the WTT Youth Contender Platja D'Aro 2026

The Venezuelan table tennis delegation won the WTT Youth Contender Platja D'Aro 2026, a tournament that has been taking place in Spain since last Tuesday and where the national team has one gold medal, two silver and one bronze medal, reinforcing its leadership in youth categories.

The Ministry of Popular Power for Sports (MinDeporte) explained that in the individual under-11 category, the young tennis players Jhonaiderlin Gómez and Albanis Coita reached the final, after an outstanding path of victories,

Gómez was crowned with a resounding 3-0 over Coita who won the silver medal. In the same men's category, Tommy Golding beat Spain's Pol Parera 3-2 in the quarterfinals and defeated Portugal's Daniel Días 3-0, securing his way to the final, where he fell 3-0 to Spaniard Nil Salan.

For his part, Samuel Londoño dominated 3-1 in the quarterfinals against Spaniard Marc Mampel, followed by Salan in the semifinals 3-0 and won the bronze medal.

In the major categories, Jhonatan Vegas, in the under-17, advanced to the round of 32 after beating Germany's Daniel Nagy 3-1, but lost 3-0 to Poland's Patryk Zyworonek in the round of 16. In the same division, Liudwing Perozo lost 3-2 to Spaniard Marcos Gómez, while in the under-15 Loriadni Pineda reached the round of 16, where she was beaten 3-0 by the German Chenhao Chen.
