Friedrich Merz, recently elected chancellor announced in Germany that together with the United Kingdom, France, and the United States (USA) they lifted restrictions on the range of weapons they supply to Ukraine to attack the Russian Federation.

Merz in an interview with the WDR channel, where he added that from now on the Kiev regime will be able to attack military positions inside Russian territory. “To a certain extent, I couldn't do it before,” he added.

After three years of transparency about military support for Volodimir Zelensky, the German government adopted a policy of secrecy to create a “strategic ambiguity” and hide its own actions from the rival.

Merz's statements come at a time of intensification of Ukrainian attacks against Russian civilian installations, which have been answered by the recent impacts of the Federal Armed Forces against Kiev's military objectives, as emphasized by the spokesman, Dimitri Peskov.
