The proposal of the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, to nominate Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize caused a wave of reactions on digital platforms.

During a meeting in Washington, Netanyahu presented the letter sent to the Norwegian committee responsible for the award. He argued that, in his opinion, Trump deserves that distinction, the news agency Telesur reported.

On social networks, users recalled the Israeli Army's attacks on Gaza and the United States' support for international military operations. “A genocidal murderer who killed more than 17,000 children nominates Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize,” a netizen posted. Another commented: “It's no surprise that war criminals back each other out.”

The decision was interpreted by many as a gesture between leaders singled out for war crimes.

Some questioned the coherence of talking about peace while maintaining policies of occupation and military offensives. Others recalled bombings authorized by Trump and the shipment of weapons to different territories.
