The National Theater Company (CNT) announced, through a video on its social networks, the reassembly of the theatrical show “Manuela, la insepulta de Paita” in two sets of performances: from October 31 to November 3 at the Alberto de Paz y Mateos Theater and from November 8 to 10 at the National Theater, for a total of eight unique performances.
“Manuela, la insepulta de Paita” created and directed by Miguel Issa, features the performances of 15 actors from the permanent cast of the CNT and the live musical accompaniment of the lyric singers Xiomara Mistage and María Elena Vargas, together with the classical and baroque guitar of the musician Carlos Omaña, to provide a show of 18 artists on stage.
It will be a unique occasion when you can see the veterans of the national theater in the same tables: Aura Rivas, Francis Rueda, María Brito and Jorge Canelón, together with Gerardo Luongo, Dora Farías, Luis Enrique Torres, Jean Manuel Pérez, Yurahy Castro, Angélica Rinaldi, Ariana León, Leonardo Ayala, Omar Churión, Andersson Figueroa and Yoel Rodríguez.
It is a theatrical show of great literary and poetic beauty, since it brings together the texts of Pablo Neruda, María Eugenia Leefmams, José Antonio Rial, Giga Salinas, the letters of Simon and Manuela and the diaries of Manuela, to pay homage to the love of Manuela Sáenz and Simón Bolívar in their different stages of life and relationship.
Director Miguel Issa develops the work through the dramaturgy of movement; the body is the main protagonist of this story. To achieve this, she has the support of teacher Emerita García in the physical preparation of the performers, who must transmit through choreographic movements the mixture of pain, love, sadness, joy, passion and loneliness present in the production.
