North Korea: Pyongyang is preparing for Putin's official visit

Since Monday, streets of the North Korean capital, Pyongyang, have been decorated with Russian flags, portraits of Vladimir Putin and welcome posters on the occasion of the visit of the president of the Russian Federation.

“We warmly welcome the President of the Russian Federation” and “Long live the unwavering friendship and unity between Korea and Russia!” , are some of the slogans that can be read on the posters.

The last time Putin visited North Korea was in 2000, when the nation was led by Kim Jong-il, father of the country's current leader, Kim Jong-un.
