According to a report by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), in Catatumbo, Colombia, violence between Non-State Armed Groups has affected 91,879 people, of whom 56,991 have been displaced, making it one of the biggest humanitarian crises due to displacement.
In this regard, the NRC indicated that in February, although mass displacements decreased thanks to the reinforcement of the Public Forces, armed actions and social restrictions increased in areas such as Tibú, Convención, Teorama and El Tarra, harming the civilian population, including minors, according to a press release from the NRC.
In addition, some 27,381 people face limited mobility and access to essential goods. Also, the suspension of funding for U.S. humanitarian assistance programs has forced 38 organizations to reduce or cease their activities, leaving 120,000 people without assistance from the United Nations (UN).
