This Sunday, the Organization of Petroleum Plus Exporting Countries (OPEC+) announced that it will increase 206,000 barrels per day in crude oil production starting in April.

In a statement quoted by Diario Vea, the group specified that the measure was adopted “in view of the stable global economic prospects and the current basic market indicators, reflected in the low oil reserves stored”

It also details that the increase of 206 thousand barrels per day is part of the dynamic of gradually undoing the cut of 1.65 million barrels per day, decided in April 2023, through staggered increases in production, the note adds.

This process began in 2025, but it was frozen for the last three months. It is expected to continue gradually and in accordance with market conditions, until it reaches “part or all” the volume of the 1.65 million barrels cut.
