Oscar Schémel: Venezuela has entered a new phase of hope and growing expectation

Venezuela has entered a new phase of faith, hope and growing expectations in solving problems, said the president of the company Hinterlaces, Oscar Schémel, during his participation in an interview on the program A Pulso, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

In this regard, he pointed out that Venezuelans reject violence, subversion and the economic blockade that has negatively impacted the daily life of the nation.

“I reject, fundamentally, because it affects their personal and family economic life,” he said, analyzing that there are changes in the cultural and social identity of the Venezuelan. “It has been affirmed, in a very strong way, what faith, hope, union and peace are.”

He estimated that “this is the definitive end of the polarization that we know. Another type of antagonism, of polarization, will come, but, today, there is a new popular national identity.”

Schémel explained that the extremes, the poles that recently competed for leadership and collective calling, no longer work and Venezuelan society is rather attracted to an alternative through a synthesis of proposals, values and beliefs.

He said he was convinced that 60% of the population no longer defines itself as Chavista or opponent, and he has developed a vision of society capable of summoning the majority of Venezuelans, because extremes no longer captivate.

“But I will summarize it as we have been doing it for several years: the Chavistas realized that the State alone cannot and the opponents realized that private enterprise alone cannot and should not, and that, together, they must work in peace and union,” he said.

Schémel also diagnosed that this is the challenge for the new leadership, and especially for the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, who somehow, in the short term, demonstrates or shows tangible results, mainly in relation to the family income of Venezuelans and is building from there a solid and strong leadership, leadership that allows her to build a new majority and consensus.
