The presidency of the Palestinian National Authority rejected the decision of the Israeli Government to declare certain areas of the occupied West Bank as the property of the Zionist regime.

He stressed that this measure aims to legitimate the expansion of settlements and the appropriation of territories, modifying previous agreements and contradicting resolution 2334 of the United Nations Security Council.

The Palestinian leadership stated that the classification of land under Israeli authority constitutes a de facto annexation and marks the beginning of plans aimed at consolidating control over the territory through the expansion of settlements.

He indicated that these actions will not alter the legal status of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, or of the Gaza Strip as occupied Palestinian territories, and reiterated that Palestine will not confer legitimacy to the occupation.

The Presidency urged the international community, in particular the Security Council and the Government of the United States, to intervene immediately to prevent Israeli decisions and demand respect for international law.

The HAMAS (Islamic Resistance Movement) movement also condemned the resolution that allows land in the West Bank to be registered as public land, calling it an attempt to impose colonial policies by force.
