The Foreign Ministry of the Palestinian National Authority condemned this Thursday, in a statement, the controversial and illegal plan announced by the Israeli Zionist Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, to build more than 3,000 new homes in zone E1 in the occupied West Bank.

Last Wednesday, Smotrich announced that the urban plan seeks to connect Al-Quds (Jerusalem) East with the illegal settlement of Maale Adumim. With these new buildings, the Israeli authorities hope to double the population of this colony by approximately 35,000 new residents.

In response, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry denounced that the plan represents an “extension of the crimes of genocide, displacement and annexation” by Israel and is aimed at consolidating the division of the West Bank, thus facilitating its complete annexation.

Hispantv published that the note adds that the new tenders are “a continuation of the occupation's plans to undermine the possibility of establishing a Palestinian State, and undermine its geographical and demographic unity.”
