The Palestinian Minister of Health, Mai Al-Kaila, warned this Friday, February 16, that the Nasser Medical Complex, in the city of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, together with its medical staff and patients, are subject to a constant crime of genocide by the Israeli Army.

He denounced that Israel aims to destroy the Nasser Hospital and get rid of all the health workers and patients who are inside the medical complex using all the methods at its disposal, the Telesur website reported.

Al-Kaila emphasized that the Nasser Medical Complex constitutes the backbone for medical care and delivery in the Gaza Strip.

He also argued that stopping the work and operation of the medical center in the city of Khan Yunis is a disaster in the full sense of the word.

In that regard, he regretted the refusal of the Israeli occupation to allow the displaced to leave the Complex through humanitarian corridors and called on the United Nations (UN), as well as international health institutions to intervene and make greater efforts to protect Palestinian civilians, patients and medical personnel.

The Minister of Health renewed her call to international health organizations, the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and all United Nations humanitarian organizations to intervene to protect medical personnel, patients and displaced persons in the Nasser Medical Complex.

The Israeli Army announced this Saturday, the 17th, the arrest of at least 100 people accused of alleged terrorist activity at the hospital in the Gazan city of Khan Yunis, which was assaulted on February 15.

Army troops are still operating in the Gaza Strip. Soldiers continue to operate in the Khan Younis area and, so far, they have arrested 100 people suspected of terrorist activity at Naser Hospital,” a military statement said.

In the text, the military body indicated that an unknown number of alleged “terrorists” have been killed in the vicinity of the Palestinian medical complex.
