The Prime Minister of Palestine, Mohamed Mustafa, accused Israel of hindering the efforts of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) to provide support to the population of the Gaza Strip, through a financial blockade that limits its operation.
During a Cabinet meeting, Mustafa warned that these restrictions seek to limit the institutional action of the ANP and block the creation of a Palestinian state, despite international support for this cause, the WAFA news agency reported.
He also argued that there are advances in efforts to achieve a new ceasefire in Gaza, while mechanisms are being prepared to facilitate the entry of assistance and plan a conference for the reconstruction of the territory.
Hostilities in Gaza resumed on March 18, following the break of the ceasefire agreed in January. Negotiations promoted by Qatar, Egypt and the United States failed to reach an agreement between the parties. On June 24, the Qatari government reported that Israel and Hamas plan to resume indirect contacts.
