Pantallas de Esperanza brought movies to children from the camp in San Martín

The Screens of Hope program arrived at the temporary camp
of the San Martín Military Intendency School, in the San Juan parish of
Caracas, where it offered a film day aimed at boys and girls from the 61
families that remain refugees after the earthquakes of last June 24.
As part of its second week of activities, the National
Autonomous Cinematography Center (CNAC) and the National Cinemateca Foundation
screened the animated film Kaporito, the guardian of the mountain, with the
purpose of creating spaces for recreation, encounter and emotional support for children.
During the activity, members of the organizing team emphasized
that the initiative seeks to provide support to families through art and
culture.
In addition, representatives of organizations dedicated to child care highlighted the value of cinema as a tool to promote learning, reflection and well-being in emergency contexts.
The camp currently houses 176 people from
different sectors of Caracas. The program will continue its journey this
July 9 at the César Rengifo National School, in the Altagracia parish, and on July 10
it will arrive at the Carlos Fiol Technical School, in Catia La Mar, La Guaira state.
