Paraguay hosts the 64th MERCOSUR summit

This Monday, Paraguay hosts the 64th summit of the Common Market of the South (MERCOSUR), which brings together the heads of state of the member countries and representatives of the associated nations every six months.

This meeting, which will take place in Asunción, the country's capital, will be the last under the 'pro tempore' presidency of Paraguay, which will pass the command to Uruguay.

Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (Brazil); Luis Lacalle Pou (Uruguay) and Santiago Peña as hosts, while Argentina will be represented by Foreign Minister Diana Mondino.

The president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, will be a new member, the president of Panama, José Raúl Mulino, will attend as a guest, together with foreign ministers and representatives of the other associated countries. Russia Today (RT) highlighted that there will be delegations from Chile, Ecuador, Colombia and Guyana.
