The parade recorded a productive third day at the II Para-South American Games Valledupar 2026, after winning a total of five medals, one gold, two silver and two bronze, with which this discipline has already accumulated 13 metals in the sporting event.
The gold medal came through Antonio Henríquez in the 50-meter butterfly, class S4, after stopping the stopwatch for 48.59 seconds and beating the Chilean Patricio Arredondo (1:02.52) and the Paraguayan Mauricio Cobo (1:16.61).
For his part, Cristhian Requena once again excelled in the competition by winning the silver medal in the 100 freestyle, class S10, with a record of 58.19 seconds, a feat that gave a new metal to the national delegation.
The second silver of the day was won by Stefany Yiyales, who finished the 100 freestyle test, class S10, with a time of 1:18.36.
The bronze medals went to the experienced Paralympic athlete Belkis Mota in the 100 freestyle, class S12, with a time of 1:10.00, and to Yoice Henríquez in the 100 freestyle, class S8, after registering a mark of 1:12.03.
The parade will continue this Tuesday with the 400-meter freestyle contest, class S14, both in the men's and women's categories, in which Venezuela will have the participation of Viviana Moraes, Valentina Gómez and Andrés Finol.
In addition, in the 50-meter freestyle, Mariangela Lizcano, Crismar Rozo, Genesis Leal, Angelina Soto, Stefany Yiyales and Belkis Mota will compete. In the men's section, the Venezuelan representatives will be Antonio Henríquez and Cristhian Requena, who will seek to expand the national medal table in the Para-South American joust.
