Parliamentarians from Venezuela and Colombia will meet this December 14

The commissions of Venezuela and Colombia, to follow up on the re-establishment of binational diplomatic and commercial relations, will meet on December 14 in Caracas.

This was reported by the deputy Vanesa Montero to the Parliamentary Plenary, who offered a balance sheet of the joint session of these committees, which was held in Bogotá last Tuesday, November 26.

He said that at this meeting at the Colombian Congress, Bogotá, Venezuelan parliamentarians worked on issues such as economic, social, diplomatic and human rights.

He commented that at the meeting it was agreed that the Colombian Congress will work according to a specific agenda to protect citizens. And secondly, to receive comments and presentations from officials of the Colombian Executive Branch.

Deputy Montero highlighted the state of protection enjoyed by Colombian residents in Venezuela, thanks to the equality policies maintained by President Nicolás Maduro, in the different fields of national life. He indicated that a monitoring commission was installed for the re-establishment of bilateral relations.

He explained that they met with former Colombian President Ernesto Samper, with whom they evaluated electoral processes, effects of coercive measures and relations with Colombia.

He indicated that the delegation was committed to raising the flags of peace, cooperation and respect. Diplomatic relations between the two nations, he said, should never be broken again because the seven years they were paralyzed affected the peoples.
